Our Staff provide advice and assistance to existing and potential Childcare providers, to Childminders and those thinking of Childminding, and to parents, on all childcare issues for children between the ages of 0 and 14.

Carrieann belton
Coordinator

Carrieann Belton was appointed Acting Coordinator of Longford County Childcare Committee in
March 2018. Carrie has leadership and management experience both locally and internationally, as
she has worked and lived both in New York and Luxembourg. She has been working in the Early
Years sector since 2009, managing a Community Childcare Preschool & Afterschool service in
Ardagh, Longford. Carrieann graduated with her MBA from the John F. Welch College of Business at
Sacred Heart University Luxembourg in 2005 and has a Bachelor’s of Science from St. John’s
University New York and a certificate in Early Years Education and Supervision. Carrie is looking
forward to applying her previous professional experiences and education to help support and
promote the quality of Early Years Education throughout the County.

Bernie Greene has worked as part of the LCCC team since August 2002. Her role consists of implementing early years quality practice in the county via training and general service support, administering the childcare government programmes and working with the LCCC team in the delivery of the annual implementation plan for the county.

Maudie Kenny

Maudie joined the LCCC team in October 2007 having previously been employed in Roscommon  CCC since July 2002 in a similar role. She is responsible for the smooth running of the office in relation to reception, payments, supplies, dealing with providers of childcare, local and statutory agencies and the general public. She works closely with the Manager in preparation of budgets and financial management and supports the team on an ongoing basis.  She has qualifications in Management, Business and Psychology.

Edel has worked with LCCC team since October 2016. Edel has studied a degree in Early Childhood Teaching and Learning at Maynooth University, as well as holding a Bachelor of Arts degree (Geography and Maths Studies) also at Maynooth University, and has also completed a diploma in Montessori teaching from Portobello College.  Her role consists of implementing early years quality practice in the county via training and general service support, administering the childcare government programmes and working with the LCCC team in the delivery of the annual implementation plan for the county.

Edel has worked in early years from 2009 until 2016.

Paula hillard
Support & Development Officer

Paula jointed the LCCC team in April 2018. Paula has a degree in Montessori Education from St. Nicholas Montessori College, a City & Guilds Diploma in Teaching & Training with Early Childhood Ireland and is currently doing a Masters in Early Childhood Education with the University of Sheffield.
Paula owns a sessional service and has worked as a Development Officer with Galway Childcare Committee. Her role with LCCC will consists of implementing early year’s quality practice in the county via training and general service support, administering the childcare government programmes
and working with the LCCC team in the delivery of the annual implementation plan for the county.
